Bravo, for taking the brave stance that it is not enough for you. So wonderful to hear this voice publicly expressed. Dance is so powerful that when one achieves in dance it is as if it is perceived as criminal to turn one’s back on it. In my dancing youth I would have avoided this truth until unhappy enough to engage in ‘perversions’ to maintain my dance pursuits. I appreciate knowing that for certain dancers, to live passionately in one’s truth far exceeds the harshness of succumbing to that which can occur when feeling unfulfilled. Even in the oft elevated and idealized world of the dancer. Perhaps one day you will return to the joy of dance on your terms.
